What is Digihats?
Digihats is the first original NFT project hosted on the Binance Smart Chain. The team has seen the astonishing success of projects like Crypto Punks and Hashmasks that have been hosted on the Ethereum blockchain. Digihats has been heavily inspired by both of these projects, incorporating the computer-generated pixel art from Crypto Punks, and the depth and layers that Hashmasks incorporated in their project.
The Digihats are a unique collection of 8888, 88x88 pixel, computer-generated numbers, each with their own uniqueness; no two can be alike, and each one can only officially be owned by a single person on the Binance Smart Chain. Every Digihat has a unique combination of the color of the numbers, backgrounds, items, hats, and special items. Besides the randomly generated Digihats, there are special number Digihats that have been hand drawn. There are 8888 unique Digihats to collect!
Digihats can be minted through our website: thedigihats.com (launching soon). Until all 8888 Digihats have been minted, anyone with a Binance Smart Chain wallet will be able to mint one of them from our website: thedigihats.com. Once all the 8888 Digihats have been minted, you will have to purchase them off the marketplace to get your hands on one (this is in development). Via the marketplace, you will be able to buy, bid on, and host auctions for the Digihats.
What do we mean by original?
Over the past week, the Digihats team has seen the launch of two NFT projects on the Binance Smart Chain. These NFT projects are blatant Ethereum clones. They didn’t even change the comments in the code that they copied. It wasn’t just the code; they copied the unique artwork that these projects independently created. This has inspired us to work night and day on making the vision of Digihats a reality.
What is the Binance Smart Chain?
The Binance Smart Chain is a blockchain that runs parallel to BNB’s native chain. The Smart Chain allows for the creation of smart contracts for tokens on the Binance blockchain (BNB). Basically, everything that you can do on Ethereum, you can do on the Binance Smart Chain.
Why use the Binance Smart Chain?
Digihats used the Binance Smart Chain because of the massive growth it has had within the last month. The Binance Smart Chain is also dramatically cheaper, making it more accessible for participants to mint a Digihat. Over the past month, the average transaction on the Ethereum network has been above $20 USD, and that has been for a simple transaction. We have seen transactions interacting with complex smart contracts costing upwards of $200. For example, interacting with the Opensea contract on the Ethereum network cost me over $80 USD.
On the Binance Smart Chain, the average transaction is under $1. This makes DeFi and NFT projects far more useable for everyone on their blockchain! The image below is an example of a swap on a DEX using the Binance Smart Chain.
There is also an amazing Binance Smart Chain community, yet there are no unique Binance Smart Chain NFT projects for them to collect. Digihats is the first unique NFT project on the Binance Smart Chain!
How to get a Digihat?
